Play first, work later...

We are off tomorrow for the beach! We are dropping Grant off at my parents house and then we will be on our way to FLORIDA! We are staying at his grandparents house in Ft. Myers (don't worry it's their winter home, so they aren't there). Our plans are to go to different beaches each day and just sit on the beach and listen to the ocean and soak in the rays!! I want to do absolutely nothing except eat, shop, and lay out! We are pretty excited. Seeing this is our fist time going on a "real" vacation with just the two of us, we're pretty excited. We've been to Park City or Colorado, but it's not a "real" vacation to me unless you go to the beach! I've debated if we should take Grant or not, but the kid HAS to have 2 naps or he is very honary. Since the beaches we will be visiting are 30-40 mins away, it would be impossible to make it back to the house for the required 2 naps. I know that he'll have fun with the grandparents, so I'm not too concerned. And besides, we're celebrating our 4 year anniversary, so it will be nice to be alone! I will be back in a week to post pictures of our trip and can't wait to see you guys until then!

Photography... new hobbie?! You decide.

Here are some pictures of Grant that I took with our new camera. I'm trying to find a new hobbie that I enjoy and I really think I could get into photography. Since we bought our new camera I have been trying it out and I have downloaded picasa to edit my pictures. Let me know what you guys think. I think this set is my best so far.

Also a little update on Grant. He is now walking...EVERYWHERE! He was a late walker and started walking about a week and a half ago. He has gotten really good and is now going into every room in the house!

Easter Fun...

We had a pretty fun Easter weekend since my parents decided to come up and hang out with us. Easter morning we woke up, thanks to 12:30 church, and Grant opened his Easter basket. We were REALLY lazy the rest of the morning. We went to church and then headed over to Abby's house for a Easter lunch. After Abby's we went to Geoffery's parents house for an Easter dinner. We had a lot of fun. Hopefully next year Grant will start to understand how to LOOK for Easter eggs and we can do an Easter egg hunt. It was better than last years though because he was only 1 month old last Easter. Hope you enjoy the pictures!

Grant's Sailboat Party...

We celebrated Grant'st 1st birthday here at the Zellers house. We had it the Saturday before his birthday, which was on Thursday. We decorated the house with sailboat decor and had a sailboat cake that was too cute for words. I had a lady in Idaho Falls make it for us. Grant got a Little Tikes car, some trucks, a playset from the grandparents, basketball hoop, and lots of other cool toys! He reacted the best I could ask for and was soo excited when he got his car! He plays with it everyday. Here are LOTS of pictures from the party. Hope you enjoy!

It's all about Grant...

I haven't had a Grant update in a while, so I thought I would tell everyone what Grant has been up too. Grant is starting to have his own little personality. He is VERY sweet and loving and loves to cuddle and kiss. He is crawling everywhere and has just learned how to climb up and down stairs. He LOVES stairs and crawls quickly to get away from me when he sees them so he can go up/down them. He is a VERY good eater and eats everything I give him (after a LOT of work to get him there). He really likes to sleep also. We put him to bed at 8pm and he doesn't wake up until 9am. Then he takes two, two hour naps! So he is only awake for 8 hrs out of the day!! He puts himself to sleep and rarely cries when I lay him down or when he wakes up. He usually just talks to himself, it's really fun to listen too. He is a momma's boy, but will usually go to anybody. He acts better for a babysitter then he does for me. He is mister golden boy when my mom or mother-in-law watches him, and when I get back he usually throws a tantrum. It's really funny. It's like he knows he can whine to me and I'll help him. He is DEFINITELY going to be a climber. He tries to climb everything and as soon as he gets strong enough, I'm sure he will be on top of everything. He is not in the least bit interested in walking. When we try to work with him, he buckles his knees and starts crawling. So I guess I'll just have to be patient. He loves to say Daddy, Momma, Nana, and Juju (his grandmas). He knows when we don't help him with something he'll scream out one of his grandmas names to see if they will help him. He knows who spoils him! He also will NOT stay still when I change his diaper, especially when its poopy. He sits still as a dog though when his grandma's change him (i'm not kidding). He has recently found that he can vibrate his lips and make a funny noise. And he figured out that he can sing with songs by saying "AHHHHH." This is very cute until we go to church and he sings along with the choir and everyone turns their head to see what the noise is. He loves to give hugs to his cousins, especially Ella who can't defend herself against Grant yet. Poor girl. I don't think they'll be good playmates. Grant will probably overtake the poor baby. Also Grant has gotten his haircut 10 times in his first year. We got it cut when he was 7 mths old and I have to take him in about every 2 weeks to say on top of it. He has a LOT of hair. He has a lot of qualities of my brother Scott, my dad, me, Geoffery, and Geoffery's grandad. He is just growing up so quickly and I love him more than anything in the world. He is my joy! Here are some recent pictures I took of him with our new camera. Enjoy!
